Watery reflections

2 Dec

We are mostly water.
Like water, when calm we offer an imperfect reflection of the world around us.
And regardless of whether we run shallow or deep, that surface image changes with the wind.
When caught in tumult, reflection of any kind ceases, and our energy is spilled prematurely into the air.

This water cycle is local for the most part.
Rain falls, flows briefly on or under the surface, then evaporates again all within the same region.
But some rises higher, spending longer in the clouds and traveling farther before returning to earth once again to offer reflections.

Of course, this analogy is not perfect, but we are mostly water.
So perhaps the most important part to remember is that eventually all water flows to the sea.
Peace and clear reflections for you.

Accepting reality

You have more to give than you believe,
fewer needs than you imagine.
You know less than what you think,
and are more blessed than you know.

Finding peace in God

Care more to listen than to be heard,
More to see than to be seen,
More to love than to be loved,
More for who you are than what you’ve been

Autumn reflections

Today I chased an eagle, and in searching for Him, found my heart.

Early fall

3 Oct

At the end of the lake
At the start of the season
Summer green gives way
To variegated hues.

May the cool fall air
And shimmering waters
Help us each to pause
For reflection and peace.

You don’t need religion to have morals. If you can’t determine right from wrong, then you lack empathy, not religion
